Terry,
if the lights were turned on when you hit the 12v on/off switch then they will come back on when you hit it again, except the touch lights. These should not come back on. If this is not the case then contact your selling dealer. You are not doing anything incorrectly, They need to get the van back in. I'd push for them to collect and return to you at no cost as it sounds like they have not done a full pdi, which you have paid for.

Our 2018 Triton does that as well. Didn't really think that it was wrong so we never even mentioned it or thought to get it looked at! We're happy to live with it.

The default state is ON for the touch LED lamps in later vans when power is applied; the only way to change this is to replace all the units with default OFF lamps...

Strange,

Just been in my 2019 van and hit the 12v switch. Touch lights did not come on by default only by touch.

I am surprised that Hymer still uses those touch lights, they can be very temperamental. I am sure it was Colin that had discovered that Adventure Leisure in Tebay were selling some replacements that had a switch?

Some of mine went faulty and had them changed out under warranty,

Yes sir, guilty as charged. We have been away for about 14 weeks since the replacement lights fitted, in some cases second set, all seem to be fine. I will however look at switched variety if/when they start playing up again.

Our new 530 GT does the same, all the lights come on when we connect the car or turn on the 12 volt switch. As Chri in #3 says it doesn't really bother us and happy to live with it.

We have had our 2019 540 for two months, not used it much as yet but I do not recall having to go around turning lights off!

Hi
We've had 2019 420GT for about 3 months now and the touch lights stay off when the 12volt supply is switched on. We'll see how it goes now.😊

Best regards
Tom

We also have 320GT. All our lights come on when main, switched on. Not really a problem to put off, except one, that switches on by itself about 5mins after we get into bed, its very sensitive, the only good thing is, my wife sleeps on the outside of the bed.

In our 2018 Triton 430,fixed bed format the 12v master switch is on the rear outside of the wardrobe. This seems to be a very odd place for it eg When returning in the dark to the van and having to grope around for it. , you almost need a torch each time unless the 12v is left active when absent. Not a good idea.
I would have thought a better position would be close to the doorway.
Has any one moved it yet ? or alternatively-
Perhaps some rough or luminous tape on the edge of the master switch might help as long as you don't trip over the dog before you get there.???

Why is it not a good idea to leave 12v on? I've never bothered to turn it off since stating Eriba ownership back in 2003.

Our 2016 Troll touch sensitive lights stay off when we press the 12v button

We did have a problem with one not coming on when we were having a service at ALV. Eric had a quick look and said a wire had come loose and fixed it in a couple of minutes.

We're like Colin in that we don't turn the 12v switch off when we are on site. If it were me I would be taking it back to the dealer as it is surely not correct for a touch sensitive light to come on without touching the sensor................................
