Bed size
I currently own a VW California and am considering buying a used Eriba 2 berth ( Triton or Famillia ) and was wondering how big the beds are. I am 6 feet 3 inches or about 190 cm tall. I realise vertical height in an Eriba is a challenge for tall people but since you don’t spend all day standing up and can accomplish most tasks sitting down that is not really such an issue. However a good nights kip is essential. I have not looked at an Eriba yet but any advice would be greatly appreciated.
Hi Maurice and welcome to Eribafolk
Cross beds in Eribas are about 1900mm long so you'd be better off with a Langschläfer (Long sleeper) if you wish to stretch out. The Triton 420 will probably be the best one for you. It's a two berth with a front kitchen (see layouts here:- g15-POPULAR-ERIBA-TOURING-LAYOUTS.html) The 410 also has long beds but are quite hard to come by.
The Familia range only come with cross beds.
There is another alternative however and that's a Puck L. Two berth but no washroom. Again see the layouts.
Headroom shouldn't be an issue and many owners are quite tall.

Sleeping across a Familia or Triton is going to be a problem for you as the bed is 188/190cm long and 140cm wide. If you bought a Triton 420 then the bed can be made up to sleep along the van and is 198cm long and 188/190cm wide. With your head at the back of the van you could also stretch out as the floor space between wardrobe and the fridge means you have this option.

We went from a T5 camper to an Eriba. We usually slept in the roof bed in the T5 but occasionally the R&R bed. I am just over 6’1 and couldn’t have comfortably slept across the van in a Triton 430 as it is slightly too short. I sleep for much of the time with legs stretched out and don’t like my feet hitting a wall. So, we bought a new 420 with the long beds and it was fine. We usually made the double bed up, so I could also put my feet out the end in the middle (we slept heads to back wall). The single beds were ok but I did find my feet touching the end a bit. Four years later we bought a new Troll 535. The extra 6 inch width of the van means I can sleep across the van, so we could choose a layout with more space elsewhere when the bed is made up (we bought a slightly bigger van for reasons other than the bed).
It does rather depend on your sleeping position I guess. If you curl up in a ball, then sleeping across a Triton 430 would be fine. But then you might also like stretching out in bed watching a movie for e.g

Hi there, we're having exactly the same dilemma, in our case we fancy a 310 but being 6'1" I too am concerned about bed length across the van. Our bed at home has both a wooden head and foot board which measures 195cm between the 2, what I've done tonight is add a piece of ply to the footboard which reduces it to roughly 186cm to see how I get on. I realise this isn't an option for everyone but will hopefully allow me to try the width before buying a van.

Excellent idea. Fortunately I'm short at 5' 8", but still find my feet hitting the wall in the night as I like to stretch out. Others have said anybody over 5' 10" would have a problem sleeping across the van, unless you are in a wide bodied Troll. That would be a 55 series or any Troll after about 2010.

I am too in the same position. We I tried a 320 for size and yes with the bed made up I could fit in it but that is with my head and feet touching the walls. By the time you put the pillows on etc it would seriously compromise my sleeping position. My wife was really happy with the 320 but we are now looking for a late 225GT or 230GT with the longer beds and compromising on the bathroom. For reference I am 6'2"

Now look what you've done, himself has got all nostalgic over his 225L. TBH they are the roomiest Eriba despite not being the biggest IMHO.
That was the plan. Neil and we two really miss the late parties in your Puck L. We don't get invited now you've got a posh Troll
