I believe the switch lights when there is power to the fridge but won't indicate if there's a fault in the fridge itself. Our current fridge has a much more comprehensive indicator screen which throws up a spanner icon in the case of issues and the normally steady blue 'running' light flashes as well. Have a look at fridge handbook, that may help, high exterior heat can reduce refrigeration, are the chiller fins still cold to the touch?

Is it working on gas? If so, that might be the answer until you get home. The 230V element might be U/S. I'll make some enquiries.
We had a 2-way fridge in our VW and that went belly-up while on holiday. One possible solution was to remove fridge and turn it upside down for a few minutes and then replace it to get rid of airlocks in the refrigerant (it didn't work for us) but I think this would be a bit complicated with the 3-way unit in an Eriba - I wouldn't want to be attempting it while away on holiday.
If the gas isn't working then I'd buy some freezer blocks and either ask the campsite owners to freeze them for you or do it in that huge freezer you've lugged through France.

Seriously though, with the high winds that Roger has reported, fridge ventilation shouldn't be a problem.

Roger,
Just found an article on Caravan Talk where the poster says he thinks that the green light is powered from the 12V circuit and if on it doesn't necessarily mean that the 230V is connected (chap with problem confirmed that his mains plug wasn't fully pushed in).
Suggest you check your fuses. Do you have mains power at the sockets? Has a circuit breaker tripped? Have you knocked a switch off when moving things around?
Trying to get expert advice for you.

turn it up to high whether it be on gas or electric turn off the blown air heating pipe goes under fridge which seeing if cooling
ensure the door is sealed when shut a lot of door action makes fridge work harder to keep cool
remove the top outside vent, see if any heat is coming off the wiggly pipe at rear
is caravan level within 10 percent?
already mentioned fridge fuse and trips
I wouldn't recommend the fridge out while away
but if you do its hard wired at top left, the wire goes to a round joint box attached between the grills on inside, gas isolators need turning off and needs hob / gas pipe loosening, plus the gas tap isolators need the screw holding to wall removing, as well as the four screws inside fridge wall
the gas would need to be checked before use for leaks,
and the electrics
but don't you have a second fridge / hob with you??

I would have thought that the simplest check would be to feel for heat at the external vent.
I expect that if the mains element had failed then there would be no obvious heat.
These elements fail quite frequently and are cheap to purchase. I once saw one being replaced through the external vents so I do not think it is necessary to remove the fridge. Mind you,it was on an EOC rally with many 'helpful' observers and advisors!!!

Thanks for all replies. Not tried it on gas yet but have checked the fuses. One fuse marked Fridge Ign. was blown and I replaced it but to no avail. Possibly too high a temperature here > 25 C and we've got the awning up.
We do have our camping fridge and freezer to fall back on and we've bought 4 freezer packs this morning which we can use with our freezer so not a complete disaster (except fewer cold beers on the go).

Fridge Trouble Update....
Fridge:- 240 EHU hook up.....Not working
Fridge:- 12 volt towing.....Working
Fridge:- Gas.....Working.
240 Thermostat????? A Hidden fuse after the green light???? ( on our electric box, not standard Eriba type, on/off switch for 12v only. 240 volt constantly on. Half a dozen fuses, all OK but none of them are for the 240 v system. There's a power breaker switch that controls that.)
