The rear parcel shelf in the C-Max has bent beyond relief and I called the dealer yesterday for a price to replace it.
£166-!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! They are not joking
Parcels never went there anyway maybe a car rug to keep our knees warm when having an in-car picnic

I left a parcel shelf that had "bent" weighted to bend it back in shape,
then cramped it depth-wise to restore the shape of the moulded ribs.
It looked as good as new after treatment, but I never put anything on
it again!

I think it's safest to assume that "parcel shelves" are things of the past.

Judging by their generally flimsy construction, they are intended only as a screen to preserve boot contents from the eyes of acquisitive scrotes.

Agreed Aaron, but am tempted to try the rebending idea Crow suggested. Any further clues on it please?

Just take it easy, overbending could mess it up,
the important bit is the depth-wise clamping to
restore the rib shape using a couple of sash cramps
again without overdoing it.

Just in case you haven't got any sash cramps cluttering up the corner of your snooker room, there are several C-Max parcel shelves on eBay.

They might not be the right colour, but they don't appear bent.

I don't have any sash cramps and did look on Ebay but couldn't find anything like the one we have.

I always wanted a snooker room but the two houses we have owned havne't been big or roomy enough.

When I started Driving in 1961, parcel shelves were used for boxes of tissues and nodding dogs. Never had a problem with bent shelves.

I do have sash cramps as it happens, but they're too big and the shelf is too flimsy, but I solved it ages back (should have said) with a light timber batten across the bent length.

Probably more to do with the weight of your Mayoral Chain than the sash Derek.
