Yes, a VW Transporter or VW Camper jack does the trick - I got mine from a scrapyard near Sheffield.

Now, corner steadies - there's a thing.

My rear nearside one failed in the down position last week, which was a bit of a stopper, quite literally. You need a flat 13mm spanner and a 13mm ring spanner to undo the three fixing bolts - I had one but not the other, but luckily the owner at the Roslin CL site near Edinburgh has a big bag of spanners. JANDI was only ten miles away and the replacement is easy to fit ... if you have a bag of spanners.

I now have a complete set in the Eriba.

Me too, or should I say I keep a very small tool box in the car with the very basic's of handy tools.

Common sense really when you think about it.

It is if you know one end of a spanner from the other, a tool kit in my car would be an absolute waste of space ............ bit like me really when it comes down to anything mechanical
