I am sure I read a post on here about a collapsing bed hinge. I did a search but couldn't find the post. We have a small list of snags with our new Triton. AL were most apologetic and have said to confirm them in an email and they'll arrange to fix at a convenient time for us etc. One of the problems is one of the beds (it's the only major problem), where one of the screws of the bottom of the lifting bar on one side has been forced out of the ply, causing some damage to the ply surrounding it. Now it's on the outside locker side and we keep all the outdoor gear that side and so dont lift that bed, so it isn't going to stop us using the caravan (in fact I am not sure we have ever lifted it, so we might have picked it up with the damage). What I don't want to happen is we go all the way down there and they just repair that hinge and the others remain insufficient, especially as it's the other side that is going to be subject to use. Have others had problems with these and had a repair by AL? I would like to have some strengthening to all of them.
Another thing that I have an issue with is the narrow panel to the right of the toilet door. It's secured top and bottom but it is bendable in the middle if you catch it - and lets face it, most people might catch the side with their hip on occassions because the space is so small. So I am going to ask AL to secure it halfway down by screwing it though to the kitchen worktop the other side.
We are of course capable of doing these repairs ourselves (quicker than the drive down to AL) but don't want to invalidate the guarantee in some way by doing this. We love the New Forest so don't mind returning down there to get it sorted.
