Caravan Club Sites.

We notice that some Caravan Club Sites are fully booked for most Spring and Summer weekends for next year. We had read on here before that because of the non deposit rule people take advantage of booking everything in sight even though they may find themselves unable to take up the pitch when the time comes.
It would appear to be impossible at some sites, to book a full week. How do others manage? Will these spaces be advertised as available nearer the dates, always assuming that the pitch hoggers bother to phone up and cancel? If so, will the CC try and add the same pitch onto the end of your 4 day stay and shift the weekenders onto another pitch.

This is the reason why I resigned from this club. I believe that a deposit system is the only fair way to remedy this situation.

Wherever possible, we use the C&CC as it's far cheaper and you don't have the problem with those selfish prats who make block bookings as soon as the lines open.

This is one of the reasons that we do not camp in England anymore , other than at Eriba Meets . We always go abroad where we have never not found a campsite even though we never book. . There are other reasons namely, weather , attitude to campers , rules & regulations , ect.

As above. France for summer holiday, allthough Germany/Holland next year and now out of season do not need to book. In the UK, outside of an Eriba meet we do not visit large commercial or C&MC sites. Stick with a CL or small private.
