Today I fitted some stainless steel door shelves bought from eBay. My plastic shelves were cracked and in a sorry state and I like the look of these new ones. It was a knuckle skinning process to fit them as I have limited tools at the storage yard. And one of my old shelves had been riveted in place and it was very difficult to remove the rivets without doing damage to the door. I am pleased with the result though.

They are a big improvement, the plastic versions are prone to breaking when they are used to close the door, or if the wind catches the door the first thing you tend to grab is the shelf...

When I go on holiday I like to pop my top!

I used to cringe whenever someone pulled the door shut with the plastic shelves as I store loads of items in there and they’d detach easily. The stainless steel ones are reassuringly over-engineered and will easily survive being used as a door handle.

I contacted him last year when Covid had just started. He said he would be back on Ebay when he gets back to work (it must be a side line) when Covids over. We were lucky to get some last September when some people were back at work. He has now disappeared again, but hopefully will return over the next few weeks.

I read somewhere, maybe on here, that he's stopped making them at the moment but will start making them for stock soon.
