Hi all, hope I am doing this right and not making a hash of first foray.
We have a 1996 Dandy Dart folding camper which we have owned for 18 years being the second owner and which we still love.
However we think it is time to have a bit more luxury and quicker set up and an inside loo in place of the toilet tent. To this end we think a Familia 320 would fit the bill just right. We are therefore on the lookout for one. Any pitfalls as to age or the best years would be great. Should we go for an older one or perhaps nearly new? Is there a vintage year which is better than the rest. Any leads would be much appreciated.

Welcome and best of luck with your search.
To generalise a bit, older vans, late 80's - 90's do seem to be better made. [The very latest models do however appear to be up to scratch in nearly all areas.] If an older van stilll look good then then it probably is. Some do suffer rust around the bottom edge metal frame and damp can make it's way in. This shows up as discolouration on the internal wallboard. It can come in from the awning rail and waist, around the high level tail light over the rear window and failed window seals. Fortunately these occurences are far less than on normal caravans that are a lot newer. You can generally buy with confidence.
If I had to choose a period to buy from it would probably be either 2006 to 2009, or brand new and fully warranted if I could afford it. The 2006-9 were the last built in France and the classic white over grey paint scheme that I still think looks best. Internally the woodwork and trim was updated and looks modern.
2010 saw dproduction ending in France and moving to Germany. The "forever young" model came out with increased roof height and was changed again a few years later into the Eriba you see in production today. This period up to about 2018 suffered issues with quality control regarding poor cabinet work and interior lighting. The only concern I would have about buying a new Eriba now is the hinge screws pulling out of the poor grade plywood used for the cabinet work.

Hi both and welcome to Eribafolk
The 320 is a great choice and is the smallest Eriba Tourer to have a built in toilet on board. They are very popular so you might need to be patient to find one.
I think the built in toilet in what is now known as the 320 was launched in 1993 and was called the PAN DUO T. Any Pan/Familia before that wouldn't have the facilities you are looking for. Shortly after the launch the Eriba range had a colour change and were recognisable by their bright stripes on a white background. Green, purple or yellow. Eribas of this age are still proving to be good purchases as they are solidly built. From around 2000 they underwent another facelift. However, on all Tourers, always look for potential problems with the sub frame:-

Thanks for all your welcomes and advice so far. Was thinking of buying a Trigano Silver at one time but info out there seems rather scant. Dealers seem to be few, one which only opens in the summer, doesn't seem a good choice. Have always liked the look of the Eriba so hopefully will find one soon. That is assuming that we will be allowed to go out, being over 70, who knows we live in strange times, how many campsites will not be open ?
Regards to all.

Good choice.
An Eriba is a more structurally substantial caravan than the Trigano.
