Looking at the LandRover cut out has reminded me that I should do some work on my 1994 110 County.It has been standing on my drive for 3 years but still starts and runs fine.A new outrigger is needed and possibly rear x member.If only I could get my old arthritic fingers working...

Basically there are digital copies of rainfall guage logs which need to be transcribed into excel to enable the data to be studied. You get presented with a photo of the rainfall and just need to enter the figures for a given year month by month. Even do a few every now and again will help with this project.

This is assuming somebody understood a single word you just wrote

People are doing the same to digify births and deaths registers. It means people can study records for all sorts of historical analysis. Family ancestry for example.

I think it’s very clever and very worthwhile, I just envy your computer literacy. I suppose if I knew where to start I have plenty of time to improve my computer skills

Its not very hard. Just copy the numbers from the image on the left into the boxes on the right (for the year they want).

Looking further at this site, there are a large number of "projects" which you could join in with (some more scientfic than others). One that looks interesting is a collection of correspondence between anti slavery activists, and another documenting WWI soldiers from New Zealand. So not just bashing in rainfall figures.

(I thought it was interesting anyway).
