Yeah, as if!

Ideally the model should be glued to thin card and coloured as required before cutting out.

Can you tell I'm going stir crazy?

PS. Does anyone remember the cut out models on the back of Weetabix packets in the late 1950s/early 1960s? I used to love making them.

I remember them well Brian.Days when as kids we only needed stuff like that and balsa wood to make model planes - sometimes with a rubber band for an engine - wow technology at its finest.Happy Days!

Go carts made from old pram wheels, two planks of wood and a bit of string.

They were posh go carts, Neil only had a book on a roller skate, had a lot of skinned knuckles.

Steve and Debbie,
I love cotton real tanks, gashing your finger open with a penknife when cutting the teeth, snapping the elastic band on that last twist. Memories.
I have a challenge for you. Get a large, 15oz, baked bean can and use this instead of the cotton reel. I made one years ago with the children at school and I managed to get it to go the length of the sports hall. It was brilliant.

Look out. Now you've started something Steve.

As we talk Mr Motters is probably in his garage knocking out a human sized model

There you go mate. Get your penknife into this :- cable reel.jpg - Bild entfernt (keine Rechte)

Only kidding Colin

Going back to Mr Calder's post, was it the Weetabix packets that had the wild animal trophy heads to cut out, Lions, Tigers and even an Elephant if I remember?
Just looked them up. 1963 Cornflakes. http://cerealoffers.com/Kelloggs/Cornfla...nimal_head.html
