If you're never off grid, and don' use your mover, why do you need a battery?

Interesting Dave.. .. We never use our 2002 Eriba except on sites with hook up. We dont have movers fitted.
I have a small ( motorcycle type ) battery fitted because my understanding was that I needed this to complete the circuit in order for running lights etc. to operate ( they don't with the battery removed )
I find electrics a black art so forgive me if I am misunderstanding or missing something here. Can we do without a battery altogether ?

Maybe battery less vans are wired to complete the circuit, neither of my 2 vans have had a battery and all the road lights internal lights fridge, tap etc worked fine whether attached to the car or EHU . [the road lights don't on EHU, and the awning light doesn't when attached to the car].

Just a quick comment, a battery’s life starts when it’s filled with acid. How does anyone know how old/ long since there battery was filled & how many months/years it’s sat on a shelf at a wholesaler, then a retailer’s 😱 A very long time ago we used to buy/sell tractor batteries and we bought them dry & filled them with acid when we needed them
