Hi from Judy & Neil. Great to be part of the forum and be among like minded folk. We hope to buy our first Eriba as soon as we can find the right van. Any help would be hugely appreciated. We are looking for a mid size Eriba with a loo (age thing possibly) thanks again !

Thanks Tom & Margaret. Sounds perfect. Did you use a dealer you could recommend or would you suggest buying privately if possible (we have not owned an Eriba before)

Welcome Judy and Neil.
If you look here you will find old brochures to brouse through, Eriba Caravan Brochures where you will get an idea of weights and sizes. Floorpans have not really changed over the years, but weights have increased.
Best thing is to home in on a model that you think suitts your needs, and then start thinking about the extras that are a must and those that would be nice.
What do you plan on towing with as this might limit your choice of van. Do you have an idea of budget as this would narrow down the year of van available.
Finally where are you in the country and how far are you prepared to travel.
You will find buying from a dealer, of which there are not really many, more expensive but you should have greater piece of mind.

Hi Judy and Neil and welcome to Eribafolk.

The smallest Eriba Touring with a built in loo the Familia 320. (also known as a Pan Duo T). These first appeared in 1995 and are instantly recognisable by thier bold green stripes, then came the purple stripes and yellow stripes before the name change to a Familia 320 in around the year 2000.It is a 2 berth across van sleeper with a front kitchen.
None of the rest of the Familia range have a built in loo.

Then you have two choices in the Triton range. the 420 (also known as the Triton TM). This is a two berth long bed sleeper with a front kitchen.
The 430 (also known as the Triton BSA) is a 3 berth with a double cross van sleeper to the rear and a single cross van sleeper to the front.

There are pics of these vans in our Gallery.

Hi Randa & Colin - thank you so much for your invaluable advice. We have a budget of £10 - £12,000 and will be towing with a Honda CRV 2.2. A loo is something we would both like to have. A 2 berth would be all we need but I'm 6' 2" so the bed size / configuration would be a factor. I live in Northampton and would happy to travel anywhere for the right van. Again - thank you so much for the welcome to the forum and for your support in our quest to hit the road with an Eriba ! Best regards Neil

Your Honda is I believe a diesel and you should have no problem towing any Eriba. Have a look here:- https://towcar.info/GB/ and alter the weights so you have about 450kg in the car and the van is at its maximum. I have towed 4 Eribas from 900kg to 1300kg and to be honest have found the heavier vans if anything tow a little better, so don't worry if your car has the capacity.
At 6'2" in a Triton you would need to sleep longways, meaning a 420. This means you would not have a seperate dining area if the bed was left made up permanently.
If you went up a size to a Troll then a 540 would give lengthways sleeping and a permanent dining area at the front.
Just to confuse you a little. If a Troll is a 55 model, eg 550, 552, 554, 555 then the van is wider with an internal width and crossways bed length of 2.0m, no matter what the age of the van.
I'd say your budget would get you a private sale van, Triton or Troll, of a 2004/7 model. If you look on e-bay at present is a nice 2005 Troll 550 at £12,500 or offer. https://www.waitrosecellar.com/red-wine/...vour-shiraz-cab

A couple of 420 Tritons in Automotive Leisure at the moment.

A bit pricey against a private sale but this era of Eriba was almost bomb proof and generally speaking AL have a good reputation.

Gets better Roger. With Mrs eribaMotters discount I pay only £3.84 a bottle. Good job as I'm running low on the 2019 supply from France.

Hi and welcome!
5 years ago we bought a 1998 Triton 430 for E 7200. She's lovely and has brought us great pleasure and happiness.
