Not for me but I found this on Facebook and thought it worthy of passing on.

German Eriba owner Ani Ka has fitted these in her van. They are from Ikea and she explains that the 50 x 35 baskets are the size to go for as the deeper ones foul the chimney pipe.

Check the measurements for yourselves however.

Also available in grey, you can if creative cut the depth down to your own size. I managed this when I fitted one under the sink in our current Eriba. I made a card template that fitted acroos the inside of the draw at the back. When happy with this I cut a piece of 12mm plywood to the same shape and screwed through the mesh sides before cutting the back of the draw off. I then adjusted the drawer runners to fit. It's a bit fiddly but worth the effort.

A word or warning for non-technical people like myself - be careful of placing IKEA like boxes loose in the wardrobe.

Kath likes things very tidy and she saw the wardrobe space in our 540 as somewhere she could get to work. She bought two large white plastic boxes with lids that fitted into the wardrobe and proceeded to fill them with things like shoes. Even to me it looked a development in acceptable tidiness.

We had a fairly uneventful drive to the Keswick C & CC site where of course it was raining. Got pitched up, put on the Kampa pop air awning getting muddy and wet in the process. We decided a brew was needed. Connected the electric to the post and nothing! Retried several times - still nothing. The electrics had been OK before we left Clitheroe.

Conclusion was must be faulty supply. Trudged up to Office to get someone to come & look at supply in case it had tripped. Despite the Lakeland downpour in progress a cheery warden came down to check. Those dreaded words - everything is all right here it must be something in your van.
My knowledge of van electrics is nil, despite my brother being an electrician (or perhaps because of it). the warden asked is there anything different than usual and of course there was - my wife's nice tidy boxes had been up against the electric box in the wardrobe. The warden made the helpful suggestion that I check that everything in the electric box was OK.Of course disconnecting the supply first.

He might as well have told me to order from a menu written in Cantonese. However I played with the box in an apparently knowledgeable way, and nothing changed still no power. So I again played with everything making sure switches were on and things were pushed in tight.
Loh & behold the power came on and everything was working. Kath asked me what had been wrong but of course all I could say was no idea. All I could think was that these largish rigid boxes must have banged against the electric box and dislodged something.

The boxes were banished from the van to the boot of the estate and never re-instated. We have been away four times since and everything ha been fine with the electrics. All very strange but a relief as the warden had given us the number of a local caravan engineer who would come out and look at it at a cost.

So the moral is if you have a van like ours don't stuff rigid boxes loose into the wardrobe. I suppose a different moral might be learn something about your van's electrics! MikeT

Another thing to remember is that the electric supply units in caravans need space around them for any heat that might be produced in operation to dissipate.
