We have a Thule Omnistore, put on by the previous owners of our Troll. It’s attached with brackets that are screwed into the van, I’ve searched the forum and found one helpful post.
We believe we are going to be left with three screw holes in the van sides, possibly six screw holes though the awning rail. and possibly three sticky gunged up messy squares on the roof and will need to replace the white plastic strip, which runs all around the roof.

Has anyone done this ? and can help with any tips or advice ?

As for the screw holes it almost standard practice to use small reflectors to cover these and small dents. Just stuck on with Sikaflex or another quality mastic.

Susan,
- holes in the awning rail, nice idea to get a length of new white strip and replace the part with holes in it, first filling the offending holes with some white Sikaflex
- holes in the side of the van, could you use the Sikaflex to stick some screw caps/covers, the sort often used on flat-pack furniture
- holes in the roof, when I removed the chimney flue on my previous van I cut a white disc out of a piece of 4mm acrylic, warmed it p in the oven and then formed it around a lump of wood I had planed to shape before sticking it over the large hole with Sikaflex

Sikaflex is the best "gunge" to use. It is a flrxible gap filling mastic/sealant/adhesive. 221 or 228 are I think the preferred choice, but very expensive. Go to Screwfix and use the general purpose Sikaflex they sell.

Hi Colin, We took yours and Tony’s advice, ordered sikaflex, white strip for all the way around, screw covers and reflectors and some expensive sikaflex remover, for the gunged up roof.
Just have to wait for the postman now, feel really positive, it’s all doable !

Thank you muchly, updates to follow.........

Hope all goes well with the camouflage exercise. We would all like to see before and after photos to inspire members.
