Hello/advice

Hello everyone. I’m new here, and new to Eribas, and looking forward to reading and posting the odd thing or two. I was wondering, has anyone got an opinion on this?
I got my Triton new. Noticed the gas pipes crossing the electrical cable under the chassis. Is this just a neat way of keeping a cable in place or is it a hazard? Ps, one of the the pipes is away from the cable because a “P” clip has lost its screw. That had been my original observation and I’d noticed the cable situation after. All the Tritons will presumably have this arrangement. I’d have thought they’d have just put a slight curve in the pipes or brought the cable under. But I might just be unfamiliar with how things are done in the caravan engineering world. Can’t imagine similar on a car. So I just wondered what others thought. I’m perfectly capable of sorting it myself but I won’t touch it obviously, in case of any warranty breach.
I was a bit taken aback/ slightly amused too when the dealer responded to another issue, a cupboard door not closing properly, with advice to pack the hinge with a bit of matchstick. Well, I know that but I did spend quite a lot of money not to be given that advice!
Thanks

Welcome Dave.
I would not accept either the cable or the dealer attitude regarding the cupboard door. The cable needs replacing and re-routing over the top of the gas pipes so it cannot be pinched and the cupboard door needs sorting. On the later I would look to see if the screw heads are protruding through being loose or driven in at a slight angle. You could also look to see if the carch is doing as it should.

Colin, I gave your post a 'Like' for the unusual use of carch.
Being not too familiar with the word, I looked it up:
'Verb. The scratching of genitals in public'

Welcome to the site Dave.
I agree with Colin on this that as you got it new the dealer should be willing to sort it. That happened to us with our Troll when there were a couple of things that needed sorting. It was sorted by another Eriba dealer as it was too far to take it back to the dealer we had purchased it from. There was no problem.
Good luck sorting it and enjoy your Triton

Thanks Colin,
Well it’s not as straight forward to get a van fixed, at a dealer 100+ miles away as it is to get a car fixed. So in the end, even though it grated on me, I fixed it all myself. The p clip holes were obviously drilled out of line so I corrected it and also spaced the pipe well away from the cable. The cupboard doors, easy to do.
But I did tell them all this again. Slightly worrying but the same response came back re the pinched cable: “all the others here are the same so it’s ok”. But I did get them to say they’d pass this on to Hymer. I did say that for me it’s a safety issue that needs flagging as it should not be an ongoing hazard for new vans, and, existing ones. Not worried about my van, I know that my fixes on these issues will be as sound as what they’d manage.
I’m tempted to send those photos direct to Hymer.
Since my last post we’ve been away in it 4 times, sorted a few more minor glitches and are generally happy with it. Will never be over the moon with dealer responses though. Just as well I’m practical. Well with caravans you have to be.

We have the same setup on our Triton 420 where a cable is passed between the chassis frame and a gas pipe. There seems to be sufficient room between the gas pipe and chassis for the cable not to be pinched.
Triton 420 towed by a Ford Kuga 2.0 TDCi (well would be if we ever get a trip this year)
