Hi folks, I would like to introduce my wife and I to the Eriba forum. We are very new to Eriba and its been a few years since we had a caravan. The evolution of holidays, from camping, caravanning, then package tours to the Spanish islands......and as the kids have grown up, now its our turn.
We’ve just bought an Eriba 540 2015 year. Currently awaiting a tow bar being fitted to our new car.......that in itself is very different for us. We now have a hybrid for the the first time, so I’ll let you know how that goes with the tow home in a few weeks time.
We are from Worksop and can’t wait to start oir travels with our Eriba. (Name not yet given)

Hi Gavin & Linda & welcome to the Forum.

As a fellow 540 owner I am sure that you will love it & have lots of brilliant adventures.

Will be interested in your experience of your hybrid as a tow car for the Troll as we are probably 6-9 months off changing our leased Karoq Scout 4x4. This is great at towing our 540, although I still think our previous Octavia Scout 4x4 was marginally better.

What hybrid have you decided to go for.

We have had our 540 for 4 years but still haven't agreed on a name we both approve of........being from Lancashire I am currently referring to it as Th'Eriba, but Kath does not approve!

Hi Mike,
We have the Mercedes A250E. It puts out a lot of power from the 1.3ltr petrol engine, then combined with the electric motor it’s pretty incredible.
I know for towing torque is king, so I’m hoping the combination works well.
We will see in a few weeks when we go to collect the Eriba and the 230 mile trip home.
So far the economy s excellent, and my normal day to day commute to work is all on electric, so very cheap compared to petrol.

The Mercedes sounds an interesting prospect as the Eribas are very stable to tow. The first long tow is like a voyage of discovery if you haven't towed much before. Kath & I did the C & MC towing awareness course which helped get our head around the theory and practical. Sadly my memory isn't great so I have forgotten much of it. The motor mover is better than my reversing!

Please give us some feedback on how well the car seemed to cope.
