Winter storage

Good afternoon
Thinking ahead somewhat but, we have Kampa cover and will use this during the winter months while our Triton is in storage. Last year (our first) we had some mould spotting on the canvass and I’m researching ways to avoid the same happening this year.
I seem to remember a post (although I can’t find it) which recommended leaving all the windows on the first latch to get some air circulation - is this a good idea?
Thanks
Bob
PS The storage site is a couple of miles away with no electric supply....

We haven’t had mould issues but we do leave the windows on vent. This year however I will only be leaving the ones on the drive side open, not the side under the trees in an effort to reduce the number of spiders who took up residence, urgh!

Hi Bobby, I use a cover and don't have any issues with mould. I don't crack open the windows. Prior to putting it away I aerate the poptop by leaving it up to make sure the canvas is dry. When closing the lid open the door and make sure all the canvas is tucked inside the van to avoid it getting damp and going mouldy by touching the outer roof.. All the doors and cupboard doors are left open, make sure all the floor vents are clear. I have always used two damp traps, my cover is bespoke with a door, and on a dry day I will open the Eriba door and let the air circulate for a few hours.

When I go on holiday I like to pop my top!

Cover on, most sheltered window on it's vent & since it's on our drive the battery & an oiled filled radiator get a 20 minute supply 3 times a day. As has been mentioned I'll also open up the door for an airing on the occasional dry day.

Many thanks for your replies.
As I’m in storage I’ll put in the normal damp crystals and crack a couple of windows ..

I had bad mould problems with my 2016 Triton, when it was stored over winter with the cover on. I have since discovered that the front area of the pop-top (which is not insulated) is often covered with condensation on cooler mornings.
