Depreciation

Thought I’d bore everyone to death with the most uninspiring discussion on depreciation. It’s certainly not the big deal but I know from personal experience that buying a good used van and keeping for a handful of years can result in very little or sometimes zero depreciation. With a new well specified Troll 530 coming in at £28,000 I wonder what it would b3 worth after 5 or 10 years?

In 5 years time on a private sale I would hope to see you getting your money back.
As an example, in 2017 I paid £19,500 for a highly specced Triton 430. I good private sale would nearly see that return now.
As an example about longer term prices. In 2003 I bought a 2001 Triton 430 for £8,300 and sold it in 2006 for £8,500. he same spec and age of van has since then hovered around these sale prices.
