Caravan storage cover - Any experience of Protec?

Hi Everyone,
Our first question.
Just obtained a 1984 Pan Familia and looking into the possibility of a fitted Protec cover for storage over winter.
Has anyone got any experience of these covers,?
Did it do the job and fit well or was it more trouble than it was worth?

Protec specifically as they make some bold claims about the material layers they use.

Thanks

Mike and Sue

We've had our Protec cover for 10 years now and although it's probably due to fall apart it's served us well.

Money well spent but be sure to remind Protec that your Pan has a projecting gas bottle box. Also ensure they have the correct position for the door opening. They should know after all these years but it does no harm to check with them.

HI I have 1993 Pan Familia. I bought an unused protec cover second hand and have used it for two winters. It fits well, easy to put on,, made of a substantial fabric and is as good as new.

Mike, you may want to give the Eriba specific Kampa covers a look. They have only been out a year or so and are a lot cheaper. I’ve one of there generic models and the material is good. I’m not sure about the fit or availability for your van so you would need to do a bit of research.

We washed our eriba and fitted the same protec cover for overwintering, performed beautifully so Van was still sparkling when unwrapped two months back. None of those annoying black streaks from the gutters. Easy to put on , comes with corner pads to protect van corners from rubbing and a little cover for the flue to stop it wearing the top of the main cover. Very pleased with it.

Another bespoke cover to consider is "Speialised" I have had mine for eight years.

We used a Protec cover on our last caravan, a Lunar and it kept the van in mint condition, it was 14 years old when we sold it and it looked like new.
We will be looking at getting one for our Troll.
I wonder if we could get a forum discount for our vans ?

I think, may be wrong, that I remember both clubs C&MC and C&CC got discounts from both Protec and Specialised. If you are a member of either it might be worth asking.
