The price new would have been fairly similar. I bought a new Troll 552 from Belgium in 2007 for £12.5K, saving about £3K on UK prices.
I have gone on to sell my previous 3 Eriba's for a little more than I paid for each of them. I've bought new, nearly new and second hand, from UK and abroad, fom dealers and private, keeping them fom 2 to 5 years. If you buy correctly and look after your Eriba it will cost you insurance and servicing and the interest you might have made in better times if the money had been invested.
