Help needed please... We are trying to load the propane gas bottles in the gas locker and the 6kg is a bit of a tight fit... Is this ok or is it not possible to fit the 6kg in there?
I should just add that the van is new to us and is a 2004 320gt familiar...
Thanks in advance for any help.
Jackie

I believe the standard 6kg will not fit. Try a Calorlite of Flogas and you will be fine.

That's a shame as we thought we were lucky to find a 6kg bottle...
Thanks Colin 👍

I believe you can exchange your standard Calor for a Calorlite, but they will assume it is empty and charge you the £25 ish fee for a new full Calorlite.
Best thing to access https://shop.calor.co.uk/calor-lite-propane-gas-bottle.html and find your local dealer.

Wrong there Colin, we carry a 6 k propane and a 7 k butane, both std Calor, snug fit but no problem.

I stand corrected. Is the inside of the post 2010 vans different?

With all the money you are saving on no continental 51 week yearly holiday you'll soon be able to afford a new one. I can see an 820 behind your Skoda next year..

Hi Jackie...we are new too (2007 Triton). We were not happy with the 6kg bottle as it was too tall to allow easy access to the connection with a spanner, too fat at the base to fit the shaped locker bottom, and too tall for the hold in straps to be effective without modification (drilling the back wall of the gas locker to refit the straps higher up). We therefore stuck with the 2x 3.9kg Calor bottles. They fit perfectly, are easy to swap and turn on/off and are secure with the girth straps provided. We have not used gas extensively to date (only cooking), so there has been no problem with running out too quickly. I reckon 6kg will fit, bit it would need some mods to fit snuggly and maybe a well chosen spanner.

A wonderful name for a pub 'The Well Chosen Spanner'.

Hi AJW, I also have a 2007 Triton 430 and carry two 6kg propane cylinders with no problem. I have also had a 7kg butane cylinder in there, again with no problem.
The retaining straps fit ok as well.
I don't use a spanner to connect the pigtail hose, I use a handwheel that has a rubber sealing washer so only has to be handtight, no problem with spanner access.

I have seen many different pictures of the fronts of early Pucks. One even did not have a gas locker but the gas bottle was strapped on to a steel frame attached to the tow frame front. Is there a pictorial guide here to the standard gas locker fronts on Pucks?
