Hi everyone 👋
We are getting a solar panel for our (new to us) Familia 320gt and under the seat is what looks like a connector (see attached picture) can I use this to connect a solar panel?
Thanks in advance

Not sure why but I can't get the picture to upload... Maybe it's because I'm in 'Rosie' the (new to us) Eriba on the top of a hill near Keswick 🙈
I'll try again tomorrow 😉

I know nowt about solar panels, and for all I know the pic might be exclusively something to do with solar, but to the uninitiated it's just a couple of sockets and the wires could go anywhere. Maybe a bit more info about what the wires are attached to might help.

They appear to be a 15A and a 2A fuse, but perhaps not - it isn't normal practice to fuse the 0V (black wire) side of things.

A clearer photo would help.

Thanks for the message JohnE the uploaded picture is definitely not as clear as seen on my mobile so I can see why you would think they are a couple of fuses but be I would say they are definitely connectors for something...
I'm now wondering if they are something to do with the motor mover. I'll try for a better picture tomorrow.
Thanks again so👍

Jackie,

with respect, I suggest that it is unlikely anyone will be able to help, unless you can give some indication as to what the wires (both) are connected to.

Jackie, if one pair of red and black wires from the connector goes to the leisure battery it would be feasible to use them to connect a solar panel (via a suitable controller, if necessary).

What type of panel are you thinking of - fixed to the roof or a portable one?

The picture clearly shows two reds and two blacks which are joined in some sort of socket. I believe as others have said that these are blade fuse holders with a blue and a clear fuse in them.. Why else would they join the two cables together?

You need to trace both ends of those cables to find out what they do.

They look like the blade fuses for the mover motors left and right .

I agree Eribanaut, except they appear to be different rated fuses. They should be the same for a mover motors. Maybe somebody just put the wrong size fuses in.
My Reich mover doesn't have in line fuses to the motors though, maybe it should!

My circuit diagram shows a 2A fuse on the black coming from the cars 13pin input to the 'booster' whatever that is. Also a 15A fuse on the red from the booster output to the battery +'ve terminal. I haven't got a motor mover
