Mobile servicing or local service centre recommendations please
Mobile servicing or local service centre recommendations please

Hi all,
We've not long had our Puck L 225GT and think it would be best to get it serviced properly. It's in very good general condition, but the previous owners (for 15+ yrs) didn't have it serviced as they didn't see the benefit of it - what could go wrong!!
Anyway, our local service centre, Chichester Caravans, near Bromsgrove are booked up until September and ideally we want to get it sorted before then. There seems to be a few local mobile service engineers around but were wondering if anyone had any recommendations for people around the Bromsgrove / Birmingham / Worcester area?
Also, if it's a mobile engineer, our drive is on a slope - would this be a problem? Have read or heard of a few problems, but not sure if this would be the same if completed by a competent, qualified engineer (not me!).
Many thanks and enjoy the good weather we're having
Andy & Rachel

Bromsgrove treated us v well when we bought a Bailey from them, including lending us a substitute van when ours had to go back to Bristol for a new roof/front.
Having said that when we had our Eribas we used a local AWS mobile guy from Stoke and he was great too. If your drive is a problem for a mobile guy he'll sort some alternative. A mobile will save you substantial money and you get to oversee and chat whilst they're working.
Having said all that most AWS and dealers are very booked up at present.
I had nothing to do on this hot afternoon
But to settle down and write you a line

Hi, many thanks for your quick reply and my sorry for my slow response! We hadn't come across the AWS system yet, so that's a really useful tip - will have a call around the local ones and see if we can get something sorted.
Cheers!

Our favourite engineer JohnE is a member of MCEA and they have a search facility.

Thanks all, after the tip re AWS, I found the mobile caravan engineers and have been able to book someone reasonably local to service. It's not JohnE, but I'm sure as an approved member, they'll be fine for the chassis service - will let you know! Cheers, Andy

Have you told them you have a sloping drive? That could cause a problem, the only time we had a mobile engineer we had to ask a neighbour to use their drive so that he could take the wheels off to do the necessary checks

Re the slope, yes, discussed it over the phone and sent a bunch of pictures via Whatsapp. Hopefully it's not too severe - will let you know how it goes.
Cheers
