Just to be aware the DVSA is going to target campers this summer with roadside caravan safety checks.
The Driver and Vehicle Standards Agency says it will target motorists towing caravans and trailers with on-the-spot safety checks this summer amid fears the boom in staycationing could result in a spike in inexperienced users and dangerous vehicles on the road.

I suspect the article was generated by the same DVSA press release that generated the 'special' towing mirrors one in the Express mentioned further down the thread list.

It sounds like they will be looking at everything, it has become noticeable that there are a lot more caravans and motorhomes on the road. Sites are getting booked up a lot more earlier than they use to, especially at the weekends which makes booking a long break very difficult .
