Pop up awning

Help please
Some time back when the Kampa Air awning came on the market there was a thread many pages long regarding the poor fitting of said awning. Eventually Kampa suggested trimming back the awning cord (can't for the life of me remember the corect term) as a remedy. I have done several searches but can't find the thread.
All I want to know is how much was suggested to be trimmed off at each end
Thanks

Michael,
if you have a first generation 2017 to 2019 Kampa Pop Air and a post 2010 van you are advised to trim 80mm off the ends of the awning cord.
If you have an earlier van or second generation 2019 onwards awning you do not need to do anything.
The second generation has a removeable side, zip along the front edge of the roof for optional canopy and extended ends at awning cord.

Hi Michael

We were one of those involved in this having a post-2010 Troll and we were shocked to be advised by Kampa to make a "Keder Beading Adjustment" of 8cms, as Colin has pointed out above.

We were reluctant to do so but were reassured by Kampa assurances that the security of the fitment would not be affected and that the warranty would not be affected. We followed their instructions and it made a big improvement. We also bought a pair of the Isabella awning fasteners that go in the awning rail and hold the awning firmly.

I still have a copy of Kampa's Addendum if you want to see it.

Hope this helps

It's interesting how they seemingly spent ages making sure there wasn't so much as a wrinkle in the awning but forgot to notice that half the trim was hanging off the pop-top.
