We had the van serviced this morning after a long wait. He was fully booked up for about 3 months.

I was astonished when he told me that one of the tyres was seven years old I have since noticed that the spare is as well.

Because our Eriba does large mileages we are used to changing them every five years maximum and the one on the doorside wheel always wears faster than the one on the other side.

I remember now that when we came back from our last really long trip in 2019, I changed the doorside tyre but decided that the other one and the spare were good for the winter and I would change them the following spring. That didn't happen and because the manufacture date is on the inside of the wheel i just looked at the tread depth before using it in the UK last year.
