If you have the Whale Watermaster or Truma Ultraflow inlet housing you can connect mains pressure water via the Whale Watermaster Mains plug and hose adaptors.
This plugs directly into the Watermaster housing but will need an adaptor if you have the Truma Ultraflow housing.
The Watermaster Mains reduces mains pressure to 1.5 bar which is a similar pressure to the Watermaster High Flow pump.

Other systems are available which fill the Aquaroll from the mains. The level is controlled by a float valve in the barrel.

Hi Magpie
I don’t have an onboard cold tank, I use just one of the Aqua roll things. When I bought the caravan off AVL I got them to add a electric hot water tank/barrel which they put under the very back seat, eg below the table mount. I might just ring them to check that it’s not going to bother anything, I can’t see it being a problem

Will this work if you have an on-board tank?
Yes, and that would be very useful but I'm taking it that you can't leave the water turned on at thepitch's tap so the onboard tank fills automatically as necessary - or can you?

On my previous caravan long ago if there was a dedicated tap to just my caravan i would just leave it turned on. no more running out in the rain to make a early morning coffee etc, it was just fit/turn on & forget
Yes, we have done that - didn't use the aquaroll and just plugged the Watermaster hose straight ino the Eriba and left the pitch tap on. Sheer luxury! But I have been told this is not possible if you have an inboard tank and I'm just trying to find out if it is.

You can't connect the hose from the tap directly to your water inlet if you have an onboard tank; the mains pressure would fill the tank until it was overflowing either through the top tank fittings or inlet cap. A pressure reducing device such as John E suggested is necessary.

Or, this setup works.
Mains-pressure water fills external tank (Fiamma/aquaroll etc) which is fitted with a float switch (to turn off the water from the mains supply when it is full).
Water pump also fitted to external tank which pumps water (at low pressure) into the onboard tank, obviously when the onboard tank isnt full.
This is controlled via a non-contact level sensor fitted to the outside of the internal tank that drives a relay which turns the pump in the external tank on and off so as to not overfill the onboard tank
This setup has two modes of operation.
One, when on a serviced pitch the onboard water tank is always kept full since its always topped up when water is used from it. The external tank is also always kept full by the mains water feed/float switch.
Two, when not on an serviced pitch, the external tank is filled at a water stand. When then connected to the onboard tank the latter is kept topped up as long as the external tank has pumpable water in it - useful particularly at night to ensure you have a full onboard tank before retiring (all controlled via an on/off switch for when the external tank is emptied)
The onboard tank is useful of course for wild camping or where water supplies arent available.
