Kampa Pop Air 365 - 2018.

Hi all,

So we have a Kampa Pop Air 365 from 2018 for my Troll 530 GT 2003. This works really well. We are really happy with the awning. Never had any trouble, putting it up and down is really simple. I' m a happy camper.

But now I purchased a Triton 420 - 2019 and did not think about the Kampa Pop Air.

I do know that there is an issue with the 2018 Kampa's about the height and the curvature of the later Eriba's.
so i was wondering. My new Triton (That will arrive on August 13th) has the door really far to the front, as you can see in the picture. 20210710_110246.jpg - Bild entfernt (keine Rechte).

Would it be possible to use the Kampa 365 on the Triton, because of the door being so far to the right. I would the try to get beading just around the corner on the back and front of the van. Would that work ?

If not, then I have to buy an new Kampa 340. But then I do not know if the 340 is wide enough for the door, as the door is so far to the right.

Any other member out here that has a Triton 420 - after 2010, and a Kampa 340 ?

Thank you very much for your help.

Kind regards

Bert

Bert, your 365 will not fit your new Triton. The 340 is what you need and it will have to be one of the newer ones as the awning really is as long as you can get to fit giving clearance on door and window whilst not getting involved with the awning rail curve.
I sometimes tuck 20mm or so of the sealing strip fabric under the back edge of the window so I can give more clearance for the door to open past 90 degrees.
The newer Kampa have a nice zip out side and a useful optional canopy.

Our Triton 420 is fine with our pop air pro 340. The door sits against the air beam at about 90 (and stays there) and can still open the side window. We have the one with the extended corner flaps that wrap around the van corners and keep the keeper strip in place. We are going away tomorrow so if there are any specific close up photos you want let me know.

Hi Colin,

Thank you for your reply. so I need a new Awning.
I am now pondering if I would not rather buy the Unico Verona in stead of the Kampa . I now how quick the setup is on the Kampa, but I do like the shape and quality of the Unico Verona, and it is easy to setup. It will however take more time.

To be decided

thanks for your help.

Bert, have a look here:- Kampa Pop Air Pro - sneaky fix for 2019 not mentioned in brochure (2)
This also may be of use to show set up with the new optional canopy. Pop Air Canopy for Triton 430

Will post a couple of photos when we get on Friday (internet is very slow here).
Having a good trip so far despite a transit van pulling out right in front of us needing a full emergency stop from 50. Then this morning noticed the boiler drain boiler drain valve was leaking so no water now. Something else to fix when I get back.

Ok here are a couple of photos of a pop air 340 attached to our Triton 420.
As Colin says, the left hand wrap around flap just sits under the window edge (not under the seal), which allows the door to open to about 90 degrees. This works fine for us. The 1st picture just shows where the right edge sits with the door out of the way.
