to the Forum.

Just to clarify your model, 420 is a Triton not a Troll. Do you have a Troll or a Triton? Makes a difference to the awning. Either way, enjoy many happy days Eribaing 😁

Welcome Dolly. So as not to confuse folk I'm guessing you meant Triton 420. The most commonly bought Eriba specific are awning is the Kampa 340 for a Triton. The age of your van is important when buying your awning. If you have a post 2010 van then you must go for one of the newer Kampa awnings from 2019 onwards. These are in demand at present and dealer stock is very low, if available at all. You might be lucky and source a good used one but they are selling at a premium price.
I'd advise not rushing into a purchase and get an Isabella Shadow, 3m length. This is a great sunshade and fine in light rain. It will gine ample protection for summer use and give time for an awning to become available and for you to assess if you do need an Air awning or require something larger/smaller.
The Isabella is so light we we keep ours in the van all of the time.

We are on site 12 of our retirement tour which has involved pretty much all of Scotland. To make things easy, we stuck to our Shadow 3m which goes up in 5 minutes. We have however invested in a third central pole. In heavy rain or strong winds (and we have had our share) we shorten the outer poles, angle them towards the van and have some spare guy ropes handy, (although we've not used them). The resulting pitched effect stops pooling of rain and reduces flapping in the wind. We only miss the awning as storage but then it keeps our packing lean and mean.

Arrrh Thanks everyone for your speedy replies + advice👍 The only reason I wanted an air awning is because I’m a single mom with an 8 year old so no one at the other end to help with endless poles... But you're right I cannot get an air awning until next year Auto leisure informed me😳 So is the Isabella Shadow easy to erect alone or with a child at the other end? As I’m only looking for something basically to keep my 2 Pomeranians in at night to sleep + bit of storage so don’t want to put something up big just a porch or slightly bigger...? Thanks again for everyone’s input I've never bought an awning before + only been caravanning around 6 months but loving it😉

The Shadow is a sunshade, not an awning. You can see it on the Isabella website. An air awning can be more difficult for a singleton to put up than a framed one. They tend to weigh more because they're frame and cover combined, whereas the frame type you're just manhandling the cover and the frame is separate.

Search Vango Siesta and Vango Elwood. They are the same awning, but the Elwood is in blue and available through GoOutdoors and Blacks. It is designed for a low camper van. I am awaiting delivery of one to use as a quick awning now we seem to be doing shorter breaks.
Again they are out of stock but odd ones are coming up on Gumtree. This would give you a floor speace of about 3 x 2.5m, and can be put up by one person. Check youtube for the video of a lady fitting one to a VW camper.
