Hi everyone, I live in Manchester and am looking for an Eriba Triton 430 or Troll to buy, must have a toilet, hot & cold water system, and if pos a mover. 2008 or newer.
would also be grateful if anyone can tell me what to check on any Triton before parting with cash.
Any help would be appreciated.

Welcome Ken, I see you found the forum.
Not really a lot to look out for. Check everything works, look on the inside for any staining of wallboards that would suggest damp and feel/look around the bottom outside 20mm square framework for rust.

Welcome
All Triton 430s will have a washroom with toilet as standard. 430s can be had with a fixed rear double bed or a rear lounge with benches to make up a double.
Other Tritons may not.
The standard spec. for an Eriba Touring is for cold water only, with plastic containers under the sink and washbasin that have a hose and pump inside that connects to the tap above. Other, more comprehensive systems, including hot water boilers, external water supply and/or internal tanks are factory fit options or retro fitted either by dealers or mobile techs or DIY jobs by previous owners. Around 2008 the only boiler fitted was the Truma Therme 5 litre mains electric, later vans had the option of a 10 litre gas and mains electric boiler but it was about four times the price.
Movers are fairly popular on Tritons, but all mover cost a lot and weigh around 30kg.
A 2008MY van will have been built in France but production transferred to Germany by 2010 and relatively few vans were built in 2009 to 2011. Production and sales ramped up as from 2012.
I had nothing to do on this hot afternoon

Hi, my wife and I are very excited to have bought our first ever caravan, and it is an Erica troll 542gt. Neither of us have ever been caravanning before so this is a truly new adventure. We have a dog called Nellie, she is a Norfolk terrier.

Hi ken and welcome.
Think once you have experienced having hot water you don't want to be without it. We had a dual gas & electric boiler factory fitted in our Troll 540 in case we wanted to camp off grid. However we have become a bit used to sites with good facilities and so haven't used the gas to heat the water for 3 years.Guesss it pays to think carefully about what you need.
We use our toilet in the van, but not the shower. We use site facilities.
The other thing to give some thought to is if you want a fixed bed or not. Views on the Forum differ but we are firmly in the camp of preferring the make up beds cos of the versatility it gives you.
If you are buying privately check that the taps are OK - frost over winter can damage the cartridge in the tap and they are expensive to have fixed.
Good luck with your search
