Thank´s for letting me join the forum. Waiting for our new Eriba Toll 530, plan to take it over in April 2022 when the snow is (hopefully) gone in Norway. Specified it with a lot of extras from the Eriba factory.
Are not sure if we shoud upgrade some extras at the local dealer?
1)SOG toilet fan
2)150W solar panel on the roof
3) gas regulator with crash sensor
4)Pop-Top roof insulation.
What is recomennded?
Regards form Trondheim, Norway

Hi Dag and welcome to Eribafolk Hopefully someone with a newish Eriba will be able to advise you soon.
The last item on the list, the insulation, may be very useful but the one produced and sold by Hymer is very expensive. Many folk have successfully made thier own insulation.
During the spring and summer I don't think you'll need it. We spent the spring in Norway a few years ago when there was still much snow on the ground and we found the temperature in the Eriba with the pop top up and no insulation, was fine.
We have several Scandinavian Eriba owners on the forum and also two from Iceland.

Here is an interesting Thread regarding pop top insulation and there are folk who have the Hymer designed one and like it a lot.

We've spent snowy nights in a Troll and have been as warm as toast. We don't feel that insulation is really necessary.
I can't think why a crash sensor regulator would be needed, given that I can't see a reason to keep the gas cylinder turned on whilst travelling. I know that our Adria Coral Compact motorhome had such a device from new because, in theory, you could run the gas heater to help warm the van whilst driving. As the van was so small, clue in the name, the cab heater was always enough to keep us warm whilst travelling, so I could see no value in it. Also there's a length of hose between cylinder and wall mounted regulator and I always suspected that would be likely to rupture in an accident and if the cylinder valve was open gas would escape because it was downstream of the regulator. If the crash sensor was on the cylinder valve it would make more sense.
As to SOGs I've seen folk who swear by them and folk who say they're a waste of time. We had an automatic after flush fan on the Adria and it was a pain because it ran on for a long while and was far from quiet.
I had nothing to do on this hot afternoon

Regarding the solar panel I suggest you work out the following:
What will you be powering off the battery and for how long?
Where will you be using the van : just Norway or further south into Europe?
When will you use the van : summer or all year?
I say this because a 150W panel will provide very little power even in the height of summer in the UK let alone the latitudes of Norway and you may find (on its own) its not a practical power source for you :)

I've used a 60 Watt folding panel for the last 6 years. Much more efficient than a roof mounted of similar size (and cost). It gets aligned to the sun twice a day. Aim for the midday sun when leaving site in the morning, and then grab the remainder of the late afternoon sun on return.

Welcome. I’m guessing you van order is in with the dealer and no changes can be made so will leave that area.
I cannot comment on solar panel as we are always on electric hook up. Toilet fan and crash sensor I would not bother with. Some folk rate the insulated top, but we have never been away in weather cold enough to warrant it.You will notice the cold more through the floor so a foam mat helps a lot. You can get a nasty fraught under the gas fire as well, so carry a spare hand towel to roll up and tuck into the gap. If you do not have a mover on order I would strongly advise on one. The factory Truma is twice the price of a dealer fit Reich 1.8. The manual version is all you need.

Intermittently used pumps, LED lights and phone chargers are ok but heaters are a no-go I am afraid off most solar panels since most panels used when touring are not normally big enough.
The fridge (if needed :) ) would need to be gas operated
Be careful to keep an eye on battery status since if its not recharged fully each day or you run the risk of it becoming flattened, even with a solar panel fitted.
In any case, better to have the panel and not need it than the other way around
