Puzzled about eBay links

Wenn Sie hier auf Links zu eBay klicken und einen Kauf tätigen, kann dies dazu führen, dass diese Website eine Provision erhält.

I am puzzled that when anyone pastes a UK Ebay site item into a post the resultant link is always for the German eBay.de site.

Have I got a setting wrong?

It doesn't do it if you copy and paste the link in using the url button and then enter the words you want to be the link text in your post.

You probably weren't looking for pork sausages, but it's an example:

Pork sausages

Yes, I find that when copying the URL off my browser into the text of my message.

Eribafolk.com is hosted in Germany (I believe) : could this be a reason for the "defaulting" to the German eBay site I wonder?

I believe eBay is sensing the origin of the eBay request to be in Germany (from the eribafolk.com server) and directs the traffic directly to the eBay site in Germany

My sense is the approach indicated by Pepe works differently in that the URL may be being passed unprocessed back to your browser which then invokes the DNS call to find the eBay site requested which will be eBay UK if you are in the UK.

It would be interesting to see if Pepes solution for a link to the UK eBay site takes someone in France to the UK site or to eBay.fr :)

Challenge passed over to the french contingent :)

Well that's such a shame. No French sausages?
That's too much Toulouse.
