I'm getting the Triton ready for our first and probably only jaunt of the year starting on Friday. Yesterday was spent cleaning and polishing and today it's the turn of the mechanical bits, greasing the corner steadies and drawbar, deglazing the stabiliser pads etc.
Here's what I found this morning:

The hitch cover has been in place continuously since last September

And here's what I found when I removed it.
From the size of the beautifully formed, cup-shaped depression I reckon it was more than likely home to a family of Robins. What a great shelter it must have made for them.
It could have been worse; it might have been mice as in previous years, the nasty, destructive little sods.
Anyway, no harm done so I'll be happy to renew their tenancy next year.

I didnt think one was supposed to grease things under the van like corner steady threads etc since they collect grit and cause jams?

Never had a problem in the last nine years but I did notice some surface rust starting on one of the front threads so I made sure it was well greased.
Also, I suppose it depends how much grease you use. If you blather it all over then perhaps it would be as you say but I apply it with my fingertip, work it well into the thread, raise and lower the steady a couple of times and then wipe off any excess. As an alternative, you could always use white grease from an aerosol - I've done that too in the past.
