Where can you get these from? I notice they are black and have been fitted to existing shelves where the buttons have broken off.

Wenn Sie hier auf Links zu eBay klicken und einen Kauf tätigen, kann dies dazu führen, dass diese Website eine Provision erhält.

Looks like a push pin rivet, used for fixing car trim amongst other uses. Loads on ebay

you just need to choose the correct size and shape.

This is what you’re looking for. They are 25 mm overall, 10mm nut and washer . The perfect fixing. I know because I have fitted them on my aluminium shelf fronts. I think they came from Ebay, I can’t remember or find any reference in my pc.

Thanks all. Will try the plastic push pin rivet first as they look a little more gentle on the plastic door liner😀👍

Fixed! Used clips from vehicleclips.co.uk. Selected Volvo Push Fit Plastic Expansion Rivets- 947098. These are 5.5mm diameter and fit the 6mm hole perfectly.
I drilled a hole in the shelf from the inside starting with a bradawl to get the hole aligned exactly, then a very small drill, then larger and so on up to 6mm. I fitted the push fit plastic rivet and carefully pushed the pin home with a frame cramp with timber pack to spread the load to avoid cracking the plastic door lining. Good firm fit. I expect to repeat this on the other shelf fronts as and when the moulded buttons break off. Good job. Thanks all for the advice.

Is it just me or, when needing a few bits like this, end up buying a box with a hundred or two, for the same price as say 5 of them. I have a garage with a couple of dozen boxes with 1000 assorted rivets, 500 flanged screws, etc.... I haven't needed any push fit expansion rivets yet, but when I do, you bet I will go for the £9.99 assorted box of 1000 of them. Although I occasionally get asked if I know how to fix a particular problem and with a magical flourish can source the right thing from my stash, I don't really have enough friends to make any inroads into the pile of stuff.

Many of us probably have similar (but different) stashes - if you know what I mean!

I hope such members would be quite happy to post half a dozen "xyz" bits to a needy member. - this has happened in the past, and will again in the future.

Long live the Eribafolk Forum - such a great place and thanks to Roger and his band of assistants.
