Hi everyone,

I’m Mel and a proud new owner of a 1993 Eribacar 580.
I haven’t been away in her yet as she’s (Carmel) been having some tlc for the past 5 weeks but she’s parked on the front again waiting for me to reupholster her and then she’ll be ready for the open road.
I was wondering if anyone on here knows how to get the two seats behind the cab into a single bed 🤔
I’ve searched all over the internet for an image or something that would lead me in the right direction to no avail.

Thank you in advance 🙏

Welcome Melanie and well done on giving Cartmel a new life. If you can post a photo of the layout somebody may be able to help. I thought the cabinet work was fairly common with the caravans so should be straightforward. Tables usually unclip to form bed bases.

Hi Melanie and welcome to Eribafolk I've come across this on the Forum but it doesn't show the mechanics of how the seat changes to bed.

There are a number of photos of various Eribacars in our gallery so don't know if there's anything in there that'll help.

Good morning everyone,

Thank you for your replies and suggestions.
I’ve added a couple of photos, one being the two seats behind the cab which are supposed to turn into a bed but I can’t for the life of me find how to do it!
I believe the 580 was a 3 bed originally but there’s no pictures or instructions online or with the paperwork I had.
The only thing I can think of is a previous owner may have modified it and now it no longer can be used as a bed, as non of the tables fit etc. I’d like to have her just as she was new 😀
I’ll post some more pictures later showing the new curtains and seat cushions. Sadly, all the expensive work that I’ve done lately can’t really be seen (new gas and electric throughout, getting the hot water and heating system working, new chargers and batteries, new flush mechanism, new dab Bluetooth stereo, new speakers, new fire extinguishers and I’m sure there’s more but I’m sure you get the idea 😁).

Hi Melanie, it looks like you have holes for poles to make up a single bed from those front seats.

If you find 2 poles - that are of a similar diameter to broom handles - they will fit over the gap & then the seating cushions may be able to slide across these poles & the back rests will fill the remaining gap.

I love looking at photos, thanks for uploading.

Hello 😊
Can you believe it! Ive got two spare poles, I haven’t been able to work out what they’re for lol.
When the rain stops, I will go and investigate and feedback ASAP.
Thanks

The cutouts under the small sear behind the passenger seat looks like they are for poles. You may have similar cutouts under the rear bench seats which should also make a double bed.

I've asked the question of a 580 owner and he says there should be a small board that fits between the seats. Then it's a case of reshuffling the cushions.

Hi Randa,

Sadly, there’s no spare board, or poles that fit in the holes.
Would it be too cheeky to ask your friend for a photo if they have one please? I will then try to get new bits as close to original as I can.
I’m not on Facebook. I retreated from all social media just under 6 months ago. After buying Carmel, it was the next best decision I’ve made in a long time 😃

Thank you, Steve and Debbie.
Fortunately, I’ve got the poles for the double bed and been able to suss that one out 😃
I hadn’t considered the holes on the single though until you guys on here highlighted it to me, thanks

Does the table packed behind the passenger seat fit across the gap?
