Fridge roars on gas

We’re enjoying our first off grid experience in our new Rockabilly

The fridge is running on gas, and is getting nice and cold, but there’s a roaring noise from the outside vents which is quite loud (can be heard a few metres away)

Is this normal?
Am I using lots of gas?

They're not usually that loud, I can hear a fridge burner if I'm within a couple of feet of the lower vent, but not 2 metres away.

You may have a faulty gas regulator - what do the flames look like on the hob burners, and if you light the Truma heater as well (which draws a lot of gas), does the fridge burner sound quieter?

Thanks John

The gas hob flame looks good
And when I light the gas fire the noise remains the same
Perhaps I have sensitive hearing!?

There’s also a smell coming from the upper external fridge vent
Kind of a hot paint smell
Having googled a little this might be normal as it “breaks in”

I think I’m just over thinking everything with our new toy 😁

The smell could be dust burning off. I know our gas fire emits some unpleasant smells when I light it to check each year. It eases off after a few minutes.

Yes, it's just the paint on the flue tube burning off.

I know our fridge is old but it doesn't make a noise when on gas and it gets really cold too.
