Noticed the price of lifepo4 battery's have come down considerably,
The question is can they be straight swapped with AGM leisure battery
Asked at tbay on last service said they could on 2021 troll
Any thoughts folks

All depends on how you charge your battery. My current set up uses a charger that won't handle Li batteries.

Our charger with the standard gel battery peaks at 14.25 volts then drops back to about 13.5 volts on maintenance mode.

As far as I can see, a 12v Lifepo4 is fully charged at 14.6 volts so you won’t overcharge it.

We have done a lot of rallies this year
So kept battery charging with solar & using a bluetti solar generator which has been extremely helpful for the 240 side of things !!

If you've got the CSV409 unit as your mains charger and distribution panel then it will not be suitable for charging a lithium/lifepo4 battery.
However, you could get the unit modified to do so. Have a look at apuljack electronics and search for CSV409.

I'll have a look at the unit see if it's csv409
It's £104 for the upgrade
So going forward I think it'll be the way to go

Hi I'm planning on carrying out a few electrical mods and additions, My 530 is fitted with a CSV 417, does any one have access to a manual or link to an English version? how does it vary from the 409? The forum has a wealth of knowledge and as a newbie I am grateful for the help and quick responses of the experienced members.

all in German, so, if you're worried about this, here is how to do it:

Follow Pepé le Pew's Google link (click on it). That takes you to the Schaudt website (all in German). enter "CSV 417" into the bottom box entitled "Artikelnummer/Bezeichnung" and click on "Suchen" (Search).

This brings up several options below it. Click on the Union Flag entry "Bedienungsanleitung"

Which adds a Union Flag option to the grey "Dowloads" box halfway down the page. Click on "Downloaden"

This takes you to "Download-Center". Here you need to enter your email address and also tick the "I have understood the data protection rules..." box. Then click on "Senden"

An "Erfolgreich verschickt" message will come up telling you it has been sent.

You will get an email from noreply@schaudt.gmbh, entitled; "Ihre Download Links auf schaudt.gmbh", with the file attached. It says it is a one-time only link.

Thanks Simon, Id just managed to work that out before your post, but had a few tries as the link expires if you do it wrong , but now sitting with a printed copy in English. so I'm in with a chance.
