Has anyone had an external gas point fitted on their touring ( specifically for a BBQ point ) bayonet fitting for my Cadac, and where exactly did you have it positioned 😁 thanks in advance

Had an external gas point fitted from new
They placed it on the side alloy checker plate, to be honest it's been a god send as we mainly cook outdoors

A quick search for external gas point brought up my installation.

the link to 'external gas point 2' is really useful. with a great solution to fitting the external gas point along with do's and donts on pipe fitting.
Drilling the big hole in the body is a bit daunting and the idea of a small pilot hole is good. Does any one have drawings, pictures or dimensions of where the steel frame is under the Aluminium skin, It would be useful for both avoiding it and knowing where it is so you can secure to it. Has anyone a good picture of the skeleton of a 530?

Yep I think a magnet and a stud/ pipe detector is the way to go. I just thought a skeleton outline would be a starter for 10.

Have a look at post #14 in my link. The photo shows how I tracked the metal tubing with a magnet and paper.

Hi Ray, sorry i'd missed what you were doing there. great idea and obviously works. when the rain stops i'll have to get out and start plotting a frame skeleton. could keep me busy for hours
