Popping By To Say Hello

I've been rather remiss in not introducing myself; sorry about that.

I joined the website a couple of days ago as a complete caravan (let alone Eriba) newbie (I still don't own one)! I was directed here by the humorous and informative blog of SDA - well known around these parts as I understand it.

The appeal of these easy to tow, iconic vans is hard to resist and I intend to meet up with as many owners as possible on Saturday in Gloucester to get a greater understanding of their appeal (despite the Tour de France passing by my actual front door on the very same day as part of the Yorkshire Grand Depart). There's either dedication for you or a complete indifference to the world of professional cycling - you decide!

hello and welcome neighbour
not quite past our door but I guess the place with be terrible to navigate with all the le tour road closures, have you seen the spotted sheep

I guess the people biking le tour will be quiet compared to the cyclists shouting interesting snippits of who dating who, how many rats were in supermarket while passing us.
Have you seen the Eriba layouts on the forum? eribas are lovely to tow,
have fun at the meet.
chat soon

Hi and welcome , I recognise your Crackerjack logo from the large white box forum. I gave some technical advice regarding what to look when buying an Eriba. I'm glad you made it over here....

Dear Pop540,
Many thanks for the cheery welcome! Yes, the TdF, whilst a great success for the region, was a bit of a pain for locals because of the road closures...

I had a lovely time on my flying visit to the meet and got to chat with nearly, but not all those still there on the Sunday (Eriba owners certainly like to talk about their pride and joys!). I was met with nothing but kindness and learned a lot. Hopefully we'll meet 'ere long and, with luck, I'll be able to introduce myself and my new-ish Eriba (when I've sourced one!!).

Thanks for the welcome sign Agger, I'm sorry that I missed you on Sunday - although tales of your doughnuts (all gone by the time I arrived) were still reverberating around the site! Hopefully we'll get to meet up soon.

Hi Derek,
Hopefully you got my PM. Thanks for welcoming me to the forum. It was great to get to the meet on Sunday and just a pity that I didn't have time to talk in depth with everyone. See you again soon I hope!

Dear Poptop320,
Thanks for the welcome! As a complete novice regarding caravanning, I was previously unaware of the disparaging looks that Eriba owners reserve for what I now know I should refer to as "wobbly boxes"!

I joined several fora in an attempt to glean as much info as possible (it is not a cheap purchase!). This one however, is the friendliest of them and I met up with some members at the meet in Gloucester yesterday where I was bowled over by people's generosity and advice, which I shall add to that provided by you (thanks again!) on... dun, dun, dun that other forum...
