We have a 1993 Triton which was a European import. Does anyone know where we can order a new sink plug from. The UK plug is 1 1/2" for a 1 1/4" waste but we need the plug itself to measure 1 1/4" .
Any ideas anyone, or have we got to change the entire waste to suit a UK plug?

I don't know if it would suit you or not but you can buy a travel plug (yes for sinks) it is a large but flat plug with the usual attachment for a cord or chain, being larger the water keeps them in place, so they don't enter the plughole but sit on top, I hav'nt checked but I'm guessing Ebay?
Yep search for "travel sink plug" lots come up in differing designs, colours etc

Hi flic and welcome to the forum.
Can't guarantee it but Werbung: THIS ONE looks promising. The seller points out that it is smaller than the current standard waste plug and quotes the actual size as being 32mm ( only 0.25mm greater than your 1 1/4").

Yes, the OH and I both have this type of plug in our wash bags as plug-hole sizes seem to vary in size from campsite to campsite. We also have one in our washing up bowl that gets carried to the amenities for the same reason. I think we'd probably also opt for this in the van if for any reason the original got lost, damaged or stolen.

Yep when travelling especially on the continent and US they come in very handy, I have even seen them with a little suction cup to store on wash bowls, sinks, showers, baths etc

Apologies if you've already thought of this, but maybe the logic holds that if a plug described as 1.25 inches is actually 1.5 inches, a 1 inch one might fit a 1.25 inch sink waste? Just an idea (I'm not technical in the least!).

You could make one if all else fails? Line the plug hole with very lightly oiled cling film and use kitchen/bathroom sealant to pack the hole. You can lay the chain in the wet sealant or prop a ring up in it until the sealant is dry... or just squeeze an extra blob of sealant on the top big enough for you to be able to pull it out. Might not last forever but will do the job until you find one that fits.
