Just one more thing....not sure if we taking awning, but has anyones dog ever tried to get under the walls of their awning?
As for rain, Pembrokeshire, beginning of October?...yes, it will rain! lol
You can bet your bottom dollar they will try especially if it hears another dog or "something" trying to invade it's territory, ours used to So we always had him on a lead even in the awning.
Likes to wax and have a smooth finish
Some years ago we had a Cavalier King Charles spaniel, Sammy, but we renamed him Houdini because he was always getting out even slipping his lead. More importantly he would go under or around any awning and skirt we put up. Houdini even escaped under the vw camper we had at the time, he didn't really go anywhere just didn't want to be kept in, even waking us with a whimper....please come and find me- dear of him. Shaun, Niki and Fonzie
Randa, I think you Are right As we had 2 dry weeks in Wales and had a fantastic time practically living outdoors and we can only imagine how fantastic it must be to visit France, Spain etc and have good weather most of the time. We walked with the girls that much in the end Zara our gsd ran into her bed when we got the dog leads out. Talking of dogs, you have to watch ours very carefully when they are in the awning as on quite a few occasions if Mark has gone to fetch water or visit the loo and I have taken my eye off Zara she was off to find him. What she quickly realised was that if she tucked her nose under the zip of the awning door she could open it. On one occasion I decided to make a cuppa ready for Marks return, Mark came out of the toilet block to find Zara waiting for him, bless her.
Proud owners of Doo-Dah our Familia 310
Our Border terrier goes everywhere with us, and during the day we put a soft bed under the table in the 320 Familia so when we are cooking etc he is told 'In your bed, good boy' and he knows how keep from under our feet. We did have a rigid plastic bed the same size but it seemed to take up twice as much room, so I think a 'soft' bed is a much better idea.
Another idea, which at first seems laughable, is that we have a ten foot length of 'astro-turf'' carpet we lay in front of the' van door and always walk him in over that, saving a lot of muddy paw marks in wet weather!
Dry dog food is a bonus compared to tinned stuff, of course, and we try not to forget his brush to keep down the hair shedding problem.
Here he is, playing on the computer, as his paws move over the mouse-pad he watches the cursor move, or gets quite excited if he manages to change the screen display!

Dog on holiday - very happy to pinch your chair, not so pleased with having to sleep under the bed!

Some great photos. Don't forget that all these lovely Eriba friends also have a photo gallery of their own if you want to upload more photos of them

At last I got my 'owners' (they think), to take me on a caravan holiday!
We went to a place called Cannaston Oaks, near Narberth, Pembrokeshire. It was ok, very quiet, apparently that's how they like it....
Lots of grass and a nice big pond and walks for me!
As you an see by the pics they got a thing about old stuff, weird if you ask me! Oh well.....
One place called Pentre Ifan was ok, but it was the sheep in the next field that I really liked, but I was not allowed to touch!
The castle was ok, but what a cheek....there was a sign that said 'no dogs', I thought blow that, I am going in! Some weird hippy bloke in there kept asking if I was a bear, I wonder what he was on!
I wont even think about the telephone box! I refused to go in!
Just one thing...what is it you people got with chippings and tiny stones? Everywhere, all around the caravan! Very hard going on the pads you know!
Would I go again?....Yes, if I could play with the sheep and rabbits!
(Hope this posting works, its hard work with paws...they should make these things more dog friendly!)
Shadow..woof!
