Could he tow it?
We Eribad for many years with our lovely lab, Purdey.
She loved the caravan. She seemed to be able to anticipate when we were going away almost before we had decided!
The only tip I would suggest is to always bear in mind that many people are not as comfortable with dogs as we would like. So do everything possible to minimise your dogs impact on fellow campers. Use a secure rope on site. Use a lead when offsite. Give the dog a feeling of security in and around the caravan so it is not stressed. Etc etc. ......and have fun!

Wow, what a beautiful dog. I am sure you will manage fine, our gsd sleeps in the awning and our Dalmatian sleeps in our familia as she doesn't really see herself as a dog. Hope you all have a great time. Ellen.

He looks like a handsome Chow? I think Frantone has pretty much nailed it on the head, I have a Staffy which as a breed has an unfortunate reputation. We make sure that we are always with him and not tied up on his own outside. We also use a screw in dog spike so that we can move around the van area with him so that he can be in the shade. We also use a porch awning so that we can rub him down when he is wet to stop him getting the Eriba upholstery dirty. Also as I found out the Eribas let in the early morning light which will wake your dog up so be prepared for a early dog walk in your gym-jams . I cured that problem by making a top pop blind. Dont leave your dog food in the awning at night time or else you will have visitors. When in the awning with him we would have his lead attached in case he tried to make a dash under the canvas so we could grab him, make sure you have a a dog ID on his collar, have one specially made for caravanning with with extra info such as your car reg and caravan model, some of the sites that you will visit will not have mobile phone coverage and your home address will delay his return if somebody finds him when the office is closed. Down load an app "Best dog friendly" it will show you the pubs near your location that will let you take your dog with you. Other than that enjoy your Eribering and your dogs company....
When I go on holiday I like to pop my top!
Hi there.
We take 4 dogs with us in our Troll, we have 3 Vizslas and a Bassett Hound.
Make sure you have plenty of towels for drying him off after getting wet, also worth having a decent high powered torch in case he needs to go out in the dark. We have waterproof cushions for in the awning and also some metal posts for attaching the leads to whilst we are setting up camp. Pets at Home had a decent offer on a few weeks ago on these items..
Hope this is useful info.

He is micro chipped, so that could help.
We have fixed up a screen for bottom half of door which he can see through but not get out....shame Eriba don't do the stable doors.
I think we will be ok.
Good ideas here, thanks

We're off tomorrow for two nights for the first time ever in our 81 Puck, together with our two whippets. (I keep looking at them and thinking they look HUGE.) We're in for a couple of cosy nights I think! :-)
the site we on at moment insist that dogs are on a lead with owners at all times, must no be allowed off lead or be left in caravan on own if owners go out, doggy waste must be picked up, must not be allow to foul other pitches
if dogs bark too much owner will be evicted without refunds, apparently this applies to cats
hope this doesn't scare you off.
have fun, looking forward to dog tails holiday blog
Eriba troll 540 likes constant hugs, and buffs and the odd cuppa.
I've found all this very helpful, thank you. Bit worried about the barking - our Jack Russell is always excitable for the first 5 minutes we go anywhere - she calms down after that though. I'm hoping she enjoys the Troll when we get it...........being able to take her with us to Spain in the winter was one of the reasons for ordering it in the first place
Sooo…our trip was last week and the dogs loved it. They are happiest when a human is in close proximity, so a Puck is perfect! We stayed at Castleton which has a dogs on lead policy, but we would have kept them on a lead anyway. As soon as we chose our pitch, my OH took them for a walk in the dog walking area, whilst I set up the awning, so they weren't waiting around anxiously or getting over excited.
We used a ground spike attached a long lead to them both, which was a godsend - they could move about, but not wander off. (Like Poptop 230 says above, we didn't leave them outside on their own though - on the couple of occasions they were home alone I popped them into the Puck, and they were fine.) We took their Hi K9 beds, which were perfect for the job, like these here:

…plus a couple of fleeces because whippets feel the cold!
They were really happy to settle on these outside in the day, watching the world go by, and in the evening, we brought them into the awning and just kept a short lead attached in case they decided to make a dash for it (they didn't!) . They slept inside with us at night, which was fine…if a little snug.
I'd feel completely relaxed about taking them again. In fact…can't wait :-)
