Hi

I've recently joined and just thought I'd say hello.

As yet, I am not an Eriba owner; however I am in the process of looking for an EribaCar 530/580 and if anyone has any knowledge of these motor homes, then any information would be greatly appreciated.

Hi John and welcome to Eribafolk. What an exciting proposition, an Eribacar. Seen many while on our travels (see the appropriate photo gallery), but never been in one. Would love a look inside one. Have you seen the link we've added to the photos?
Do you already have one in mind or are you on the lookout? A modern one or a classic? We are in touch with a friend of Eribafolk who last month declared he was going to sell his. Don't know if it's still around however and he is at the opposite end of the Kingdom from you, in Kent.

Many thanks all.

I have got a couple of 580's to see this weekend and was intending to go see a 530, but Kent is a long way from Glasgow for a quick looksee.

One of my work colleagues is in Spain at the moment and he is looking at a late model 580 for me near Benidorms so hopefully that will give me an option too.

Hi.

Just a quick update - I saw a couple of 580's, one was overpriced and drove well and the other was the right price, but drove like a tractor (typical early Renault); however I stumbled upon a Bali in London, based on a Talbot/Peugeout/Citroen/Fiat cab and decided to go for it.

Paid a deposit and flew down yesterday, was pleasantly impressed with the sight and bought there and then - 9 hours, 400 miles and 3/4 of a tank of petrol, I was back in Glasgow exhausted.

It drives a million times better than the Renault chassis 580's, even though it has no power steering , has all that I need and gives me scope for a wee tinker as and when required - OH and the price was a bargain, I'll say.

Here are some photos taken by the PO to whet your whistle;

Anyhow, let the fun begin.

Well done John. Sounds like you've got a winner. I was reliably informed that the Talbot Eribacar Bali is quite rare and therefore should be more desirable. Here's one we saw in the South of France last year.

It looks fabulous and in very good condition. You must be as pleased as punch.

Just had a few days away in the Bali around the west coast of Scotland and all of my expectations were blown away by how usable and practical the rear layout is, given that I was only ever use to roughing it in old VW vans before.

My better half, who has never done anything remotely like this before absolutely loved the experience and is already planning a couple of nights away in the next few weeks.

The van performed faultlessly; though the cab seats are not that clever, so will be replaced ASAP and I really should wire in the new stereo, as I sorely missed Radio 2 whilst on the move.

Anyhow, I am away to empty the van and make a start on all the wee jobs that I have to do on it in preparation for the next jaunt.
