One year on

Well it's just about a year since I found this place

A year to contemplate ..............................Well there I was a year ago owner of a Puck, but Just sourced and imported a Triton from Holland. So overjoyed with the way things were going and settled in my life......................
Then things went a little wrong but I won't dwell on that ........ I had a prospective buyer lined up for the Puck .........which fell through and I discovered Eribafolk forum on the 29th of October.
A friendly place with some names that I recognised and the odd one I did not (at first)..............

A test run last October with the new (to me) Triton went reasonably well and that was it for 2013

Some comments from the time
First impressions of a Triton as an upgrade from a Puck,
1 towing, the extra 300 KG and the stabilizer hitch lets me know its behind me a bit more than the Puck does and as it's a bit wider than the Puck, towing mirrors are a great advantage, I only had one fitted to the driver's side but staying on the inside lane at all times meant that was not a problem.
2 setting up, not dissimilar to the puck except reversing onto the pitch was a little easier due to the longer distance between the hitch and the van wheels. Remembered to put the extension on the heater chimney (nice to have gas heating something the puck never had)
3 Awning, I had a go at working out the poles for the vanderhorn open fronted awning that came with it but it looks like it was put away wet and the clamps that hold the poles extended were rusted solid and some of the poles need cleaning up a bit :-( so a little work needed there. never mind I brought
my home made sun canopy and put that up instead)until it got too windy.
4 Impressions of the internals,
Its 4 paces from the rear seating to the door
I can use the loo without having to drag it out of the cupboard at the bottom of the wardrobe
The tv and the laptop can stay out on the rear table when I go to bed.
The gas fire keeps it nice and warm even late in October.
Lots of room to move around inside.
The blinds are good
Outside, the awning light is very useful when going out for a smoke.

Downsides
the curtains only cover 1\2 of the windows and will need replacing with some decent ones
The bottom of the wardrobe has a big step in it making it difficult to store things in there ( I may need to make a bit to go in there to level things up)
The seats are very firm.
The rear table is not a good fit in the rail and moves around when leaned on.
It takes a steady nerve to spend that kind of money on the strength of 7 images and a google translation but I'm very pleased that I did

And so to 2014
My first trip away inspired a blog
blog-e7365-years-today.html

And was a hint of things to come ..............
The second trip saw me parked behind a pub in Norfolk (where else) eating lobster (how the other half live)
Hobgoblin on the road

Trip 3 also saw me in Norfolk at

http://www.yaxhamwaters.co.uk/

Where I did a spot of fishing
My laptop refused to connect to their internet connection so no report but a pic or 2

Then came the epic 2014 Eribafolk forum meet followed by the rest of the 2014 tour
where my health got worse as hinted at earlier

2014 tour
Next came the off grid steam rally

An off grid weekend

And more recently Gladly's trip

Gladly on tour

I know I'm not as old as a lot of folk on here but it came as something of a shock to get concessionary rates at some of the places I visited, the winter fuel allowance .......a bus pass and now they tell me my health necessitates a winter flue jab and some pills for cholesterol..............when I asked why the doc said it would help me over the next 10 years............I said I was not expecting to make it that far .......................she looked at me and said I can see why

Nearly a 5 star general ..............and so on to Eribafolk forum year two ................. update to come in 12 months ...............I hope

You missed out the best bit, Nev.

On 24 July 2014 you bought a set of classic Eribafolk window stickers to make your new Triton look even better.

Here's to many more happy years touring.

Nearly a 5 star general .........

Well ..........about a week ago I passed 1000 posts on this wonderful forum ..........a place where I have been able to express myself freely and meet some wonderful like minded people

If only 1\2 of them have been useful to others (in amongst the drivel) I will be well pleased .............and hopefully the blogs and travelogues have amused in the way intended

Roll on 2015 and in the meantime have a good Christmas and new year
