Tall person stuff.

Ok. In metric terms I'm just shy of 2m tall. I know I won't be able to stand up in most Eribas... maybe just , in the middle of the pop top. But I'm more interested in the sleeping space. Just how big is the bed of an olderr Puck?

I am 186cm tall and tried all the beds in the different Eriba models. If there wasn't the option of the long beds (we bought a Triton 420) then we probably wouldn't have bought an Eriba. Sleeping well is important, especially if you intend to travel extensively. I guess it depends how you sleep, the old man curls up, whereas I like to stick my legs out. I made them put the Triton sideways bed out at the C&C show at the NEC, took my shoes off and laid on it, turning over and back again several times - not for me. It's not like I am not used to small spaces either as we toured for months at a time in the T5 but slept up in the poptop as it's longer than a rock and roll bed/seat.

Go to a dealer who has a Puck and get them to make the bed up, then lay on it and move around for 10 minutes (both of you if you have a partner).

Hi Dee, I've just found this info. regarding standing height http://www.bugpuck.be/en/eriba-caravans/eriba-puck.htm but there is no information regarding the exact length of the Puck bed save that it is supposed to be "standard" bed length.
Perhaps some kind Puck owner will be able to run a tape over one for you.

Given that the Puck didn't change much in overall dimensions over the years and that there wasn't exactly a lot of dimension to muck about with anyway, I suspect that the bed/benches remained fairly constant in size.

Try looking up the size on fairly recent brochures from before the Puck was discontinued should give a fairly accurate measurement. If I recall correctly the Puck L had similar length benches to a 420/540 (6ft 3ins), whereas on the Puck standard they were 530 size (4ft 6ins or so).

Thanks all for your answers. Steamdrivenandy I hope that 4ft 6ins is a typo! We are aiming for a very compact light van, and gateway/access means we prefer a narrow van. So sleeping along the van is a must. Also budget is limited so we can't be too picky about models. I'm a fairly compact sleeper, and generally manage on any horizontal(ish) surface... so I'm not too worried. We know of one or two larger Eribas to look at, but haven't found a Puck locally. Dee

Because of your budget, obviously private would be the best way to go but would you consider buying from a classic dealer if the right one came up? I'm just thinking that your location, like ours, makes the likelihood of finding something nearby nigh on impossible.
There are a few good dealers around and all seem to be reliable.
By the way, I think Andy's 4' 6" is the bed width for a cross van sleeper whereas unless I'm mistaken, all Pucks have length way beds.

Hello Dee, We have a Puck l 225 year 2000 and the door side bunk is longer the other. My Husband is just under 6ft and fits comfortable. As the bottom of this side of the bed is open perhaps some sort of removable extension could be made, I understand that some pucks have an extension as standard.

Hi Crow
Do I understand correctly that the 194 dimension on the Puck120 is the door-side bed length, 177 is the cupboard-side bed length? and 150 the width...

Thanks
Dee
