Hi all….just got onto this forum! Looks great and lots of Eriba Folk to talk to! Questions if I may….lol…. We are …or I am and I hope 'The Boss' will come around to the idea soon….haha…looking for an 'extension' to our amazing VW T5.5 California. I was always thinking…maybe one day it will become too small, and I'd have to get a bigger camper van, but it is so useful, so well done with space-saving kit, and so versatile, it is just perfect for us. Well almost! ;-) Now I have discovered the Eriba vans, I am obsessed with plugging one of these little marvels onto the Cali. An annex almost or extra room. It would solve some tight squeezes that we have to live with and also look even cooler than the Cali does! So my conundrum is which Eriba? I looked at a 555GT which looked great, but we'd end up using it and not the Cali, which would be silly. So I need a smaller van to augment the California rather than make it redundant. Also one that may well double as storage space for security of kit. All our stuff is of the folding variety so no huge bikes or kayaks, we have both but they are folding and in manageable bags. So I am now torn between the 120GT, 230GT and Triton 430GT. I def want older, not new as I actually much prefer the styling and details of the older pre-2010 type vans and also they are physically smaller, which Ilke too. I really don't need a kitchen, or really a fridge but both can serve us. And we have a portapotti which we have no problem with. But I did want a shower and hot water. BUT…everyone seems to say that showering is just a dream, so if so I don't need loose space or gain a bigger van just to lug a loo I already have. If the Triton 430GT isn't that much bigger in the flesh then maybe it'd be worth the extra size and weight, but if not then it's just between the 120GT and 230GT Pucks. I actually much prefer a smaller van…look cuter too…but I also don't want to buy something that is cute and not much use. I love the 120GT looks and have seen an absolutely perfect one for sale near me, but I am thinking maybe the 230GT is a better idea for its slightly larger size. I sat in the 120GT and it did seem small to me, but gorgeous. The 230GT is about 9 hours drive away from me, but I'd go see it if it was worth it. It s also in 'as new' state. But the 120GT was just never used! The Pucks also are better for me…here in Spain…as under 750 kilos…the caravan is classed differently and you don't need MOT, insurance, special number plate…nothing..just plug it onto your towing vehicle and use the same plate. SO WHICH PLEASE?????? :-) Thanks all, and sorry for the long long message!

Hi Simonspain, you have missed a model which fits between the Puck L and the Triton? The Familia is almost the same size as the Puck L but it has either a 3 birth (310 model) or a 2 birth with a toilet/sink and if fitted a shower (320 model) The shower to be honest is more of a gesture than a permanent daily usage and if you are average size and above it will be a bit of a challenge....

Hi Poptop320…..yes I have thought of the 320, but didn't like loosing those lovely bay windows to the kitchen. I know the 120GT is the same and with zero windows there, put it becomes more like a small survival pod…lol…which I like. The 230GT seems perfect, but I have yet to see one. It has a big living area, that turns into a big bed and also full use of those lovely bay windows. Also the 320 gets above 750 kilos so if I do that, I may as well get the 'brand new' 2007 Triton we have seen for sale. To be honest, the Puck 120GT was in such amazingly new condition, I just want to buy it. I hoped it would surprise me inside as to how much space it had, and it was lovely….but tiny spaces. I wanted somewhere for us to sit in the rain or in the heat and I am not sure you could do that in a120GT. Maybe a 230GT. Also the Triton would actually have less living room space than the 230 or 120 as it has a fixed bed! If the shower is useable…for the kids, not just us parents…I'd rethink and maybe go for the Triton, but then you need hot water fitted and also a grey water tank to be completely free of campsites. I don't mind campsites, but sometime we go to the beaches and wild camp or even on a journey, I'd want to be able to take a hot shower if there was a shower. If not, I'd rather go smaller than 750 kg and that is either of the Pucks. Also I do like being able to get into garages and parking as our Cali is less than 2m and so would the 120GT be. If someone says…..get that perfect 120GT and forget looking at the 230….I'd get on the phone now and buy it, as I am sure it will go soon. But if someone on here thinks the 230GT is worth a look and would be better, I'd wait and see one I know of here. The 120GT looks soooo pretty and cute, but that's maybe not a good reason to turn the 230 GT down perhaps…or even a Triton, if the size and shower are worth it. Remember I am an odd one…as I have a perfectly good VW California with water, 3 batteries, heating, portapoti, and 2 beds….but I want to have little more space for child car seats, prams etc. Thanks!!! :-)

What a conundrum you have...., if you already have a VW camper then the 120 maybe the way to go...
Have a look at AL website they have a technical section which gives all the weights and dimensions with pictures. The weights of most Eriba models over the years have slightly changed, however the Puck L is showing at 850kg max laiden weight.

Hi….thanks….speaking on two different threads here, but I need info fast! lol The tech sheet the owner of the 230GT has sent me classes it as 750 kilos so that sheet is all I need to prove the van is that, even though I believe it to be classed as 790 kilos almost everywhere. The 120 is smaller but can actually legally carry more weight! I love the 120's looks, but I don't want to buy it and then see a 230GT and think….hummm…maybe that is better! I have spoken to a 120GT owner here who loves his, but says he'd probably go for the 230….but then he doesn't have a VW California! I just was thinking of a small trailer with a shower and storage, but there's nothing like that and then I discovered the Eriba Touring range and fell for them. Like I said, I love a big van, but would then have about 50 grand of VW Cali just empty as we used the Eriba! We could go for a new van but I just like the older style and sizes better and the Pucks are just so cool…and not made anymore! Hence my conundrum! :-)
