Side Hung Clothes Airer (washing line)

Another idea from the Swiss couple next to us. (clothes airer, washing line).
A basic home radiator clothes airer with two pieces of awning rail bead/piping added. Also a length of plastic, if required, across the bottom of the airer where it comes into contact with the side of the van.

Looks good but I would have used pipe lagging foam
to cushion the panel contact area.
I wouldn't use it on my van like that!

Can you buy bits of the awning rail beading?

We have the same kind of setup! I bought a length of beading and put two eyelets in it to take the hooks on the dryer rail. Some plastic piping stops any damage to the van side. Very simple and quick to put up/take down. I decided to use a length of beading to spread the load, rather than two small sections.

For the benefit of new members, this was my solution to the problem for vans with two rear moving handles. (Full details in the 'How to......' section.

My take on this is a line from the awning rail to my lantern rail

Its really flapping around out there in wind gusts up to about 45 mph.
