Spring Clean

Hello,

What products do I use to keep my new Eriba clean? I have the dimpled body and a smooth roof. After the AL cover comes off and we start to get some proper use this year (2 dry nights only so far), I want to use the right products for the job.

Thanks.

There are several threads on the forum that address cleaning. Do a search for "polish" — that should give you a start.

I cleaned my Triton last November, before putting the cover on for winter. I used Fenwick's caravan cleaner to wash the muck off, and then their Bobby Dazzler as a rinse, which you can either allow to dry in place or you can leather it off. Some users apply a polish and a wax, but several people with the dimpled panels say that it's hard to get the product out of the dimples, leaving a dull residue. The Bobby Dazzler is a water repellent, so it should be enough protection. What you ought to do, however, is apply a good wax (I use Harly's wax) for the GRP roof and the pop-top, because the material these are made from deteriorates in daylight without the extra protection given by the waxing.

Thanks, so Fenwick's is ok for dimpled Eribas? The surface almost feels like rubber to the touch and not metal like the GT models.

I've used Fenwick's Bobby Dazzler, exclusively, on my 13 year old dimpled Puck L from when new. It looks as shiny now as when new ! (OK to be fair it is stored in a garage and I do spend time keeping it clean !). "Black Streaking" seems to be kept to minimum and quite easily cleaned off if it does get bad.

The smooth roof areas are polished with a good quality, non abrasive, car polish :)

So I think Bobby Dazzler is worth a try .
