I aim to buy a cordless power drill with wheel nut adaptor for the mover.

Got one in the garage for all the jobs round the house and to move it in and out of the garage and the Eriba and forget it more likely will be a frustrating step too far on top all of the other things, added to each trip.

Any suggestions on best buys?

Best buys? Buy one of Rod's. He's got racks of them.

I have to say that my Makita 18v is great and holds the charge well

Thanks, is there a particular adaptor or socket for the wheel and mover nuts?

Just my twopennyworth. I could bore you with the fact that I ran the Jewson National Distribution for Hire tools (this was 22 years ago). Part of my job was to buy hire tools and special buys for sale in Hire Point centres, you'd be surprised how many of these unbranded tools derive from the same manufacturer as the more well known brands Back then we were spending 6.5 million per annum with these guys, so a lot of tools.

If I was buying now for your intended purpose I would buy something with at least 12v of power, an interchangeable battery, and a long warranty, as for special tools you can buy a socket extension specifically for this job (advertises in the CC magazine).

Best of luck

Thanks Gray, I was thinking 18v but you know best. Great advice all round. Will check C&CC mag as not in CC

Hi Derek, 18v is fine, I was just saying start at no less than 12v, torque is also important as is a low speed setting, lots even have an adjustable torque setting on, this is useful for quickly lowering the steadies without applying too much pressure

Will that take the adaptor or whatever it is?

It doesn't advertise a charger either.

I've never had much luck with cordless tools Derek but I've found it useful to go for a drill with a spare battery

Thanks mate, will have a look at Aldi's stuff tomorrow, after pre op meeting at hospital, very near an Aldi.
Spare battery and charger are essential to my way of thinking. It's not urgeent anyway

We don't have a mover but I've found an effortless way of dropping the corner steadies without using a drill.
It's always been the job of the missus.
